The M11/39 was Italy‘s first true medium tank to see combat during the Second World War. Deployed primarily during the North African Campaign, it featured a hull-mounted 37mm main gun supported by a turret-mounted machine gun, reflecting the transitional tank designs of the late 1930s. Though quickly superseded by later M13 and M14 series tanks, the M11/39 remains an important vehicle in early-war Italian armored forces.
